Interactive Notebook

Students Interactive Notebook will stay in the classroom, with the exception of right before a test when it will be taken home to study. This notebook will house their notes and foldables for grammar, literature, poetry and research.

 

Novels- SSR

Students are expected to have a book every day that they can read for Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) in class and in Advisory. The expectation is that students finish 20 or more books over the course of the school year. Students will keep track of their progress in their Interactive Notebooks and share in Book Talks with me throughout the year. 

This year, students will be participating in several "Independent Novel Choice Readings". They will choose from a list of books with a common theme. Students are expected to bring that book to class every day to read, discuss and will be tested on their understanding of the novel by the due date.

Students are expected to bring a pencil every day to class!
